Game with Bobcats Washed Out, Michigan Awaits

Once again Ohio State lost an opportunity to take the field due to the weather as an unfavorable forecast mixed rain off and on throughout the evening hours saw the Wednesday night date between the Buckeyes and Bobcats be cancelled.

Without a midweek game, the Buckeyes surely chomping at the bit to get back on the diamond, and who better to take out the anticipation and frustration if you're an Ohio State fan than against Michigan.

As the Maize and Blue venture into Columbus for a key series, where both teams are tied for fourth in the Big Ten at 6-6, the marketing and promotions department have a weekend full of events to encourage fans far and wide to head to Bill Davis Stadium this weekend to support the Buckeyes.

Here is the rundown of all of this weekend's events and ongoings with on of college athletics finest rivalries on hand.

* The “Lose the Blue” clothing drive will take place Friday. Fans get a free scarlet and gray Ohio State shirt for donating a gently used blue apparel item.

*First-team All-American and National Freshman of the Year Jared Sullinger will throw out Friday’s first pitch.

*Friday will also feature a display of post-game fireworks.

*Free t-shirts will be given to the first 500 Ohio State students on Saturday.

*Saturday will also feature the Ohio State Athletic Band playing in the stands and a ceremonial first pitch from soccer All-American Cassie Dickerson.

*And someone will win a set of Kenda Tires Saturday as part of the “Dizzy Tire Roll.”

*Sunday is Kids Club Day and Columbus Zoo Day.

The first pitch times for the weekend will be: 7:05 on Friday, 3:05 on Saturday, and 1:05 on Sunday.

The Buckeye Nine will have a preview of Michigan and a feature on a new and friendlier aspect to the rivalry with Central Ohio ties.
