OSU-Illinois Game 2

Buckeyes win 10-7, rebounding from Friday's dramatic loss.

Drew Rucinski moves to 8-2 on the year. Jake Hale collects his 12th save.

The Bucks were lead a the dish by Ryan Dew who went 3-for-5 with 3 runs. Justin Miller batting 6th went scored 3 runs of himself in going 4-for-5 with a HR, and a double, and 3 RBI. Tyler Engle was an offensive force as well going 3-for-4 being the third Buckeye with 3 runs he also added a RBI.

Starter Dean Wolosiansky who had earned a victory in every Big Ten series to this point went 4.2 innings allowing 9 hits, 4 runs all earned, and walked 2.

That lead was short lived as Drew R gave up a 2-run HR to LF Casey McMurray.

Gus Miller just doubled and Arp moved him to 3rd with a bunt. Engle up now. 1 out

Lets go Bucks!

Bucks up 8-7,need some more runs here for sure. I don't want to replay last night game again.

I don't know why Todd does not use Hale more in the 8th inning? He was a starter last year.

Buckeyes win 10-7,Hale slams the door in the 9th. Matt Streng had a big 2-run single in the 9th to add to the Bucks lead. We needed this game big time and we got it.

Greetings from Champaign! This was a magnificant game to watch! Two very evenly matched teams punching it out pitch by pitch. I've never witnessed a game where every pitch was so critical. Gus came through in spades yesterday, and in the end, our pitching was a little better. The 2 runs we scored in the top of the ninth really took their tool on Illinois - I didn't detect much of a spark in their last at bat. Jake was simply overpowering. And finally, the cookout with the team after the game...Priceless!
