Write Ray Stein, Part II

Nice writeup today in the Dispatch previewing the Big Ten baseball series between Ohio State and Michigan State this weekend in Lansing, Mich. Sure, it is a road series for the Buckeyes, but the lack of an article today is a slap in the face to those who follow the team. As I have said in an earlier post this season, it is a shame Dispatch sports editor Ray Stein isn't a college baseball fan. I was mildly critical of him when I was at Ohio State, but now, as a blogger, I can turn it up a notch. I cannot remember a time when the paper did not have an article about Ohio State baseball in the Friday paper during conference play. The decision on what sports to cover lies with Ray Stein (rstein@dispatch.com) and I encourage all Buckeye fans to email him in support for future coverage for Ohio State baseball.

Yeah i was suprised to see no article about the MSU series in today's paper. They do a poor job most times with the baseball buckeyes, but always have a weekend article. Shame on them.

I think the thing that is most surprising, discouraging, is that a lot of these players are players that the Dispatch has covered in the past.

Blackledge does a great job covering HS football and wrote a good article on Angle in 03 during football season. Heck this is still the Dan DeLucia that lead Watterson to their state title in 02. I'm sure other local players like Dew, Kovanda, Arp have been wrote about in the past, it can't be that much of a stretch to find the time/space to cater to an audience that would enjoy it. Especially now that the BJ's are done for the year.

I can only encourage you to write him an email to express your displeasure. If he doesn't hear from fans of Buckeye Baseball, he'll think his decision is justified.

How was the coverage this weekend? Was in Lansing obviously, and didn't get to see what was in the Dispatch Sat-Mon.

I'll put together a letter for Ray.
