DH Postponed, Game Four Cancelled
Saturday's doubleheader between Ohio State and Michigan State has been postponed until Sunday because of steady rain throughout the day. The two teams will try Sunday to play two seven-inning games starting at 1:05 p.m., weather permitting. By rule you cannot start three games on the same day, so game four has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. It would be a shame if the only game these teams got to play was that 4-3 thriller Friday night. I do not know how this situation affects the pitching rotation, but if I hear I will pass it along.

Today will not start on time. As of 12:15 p.m. the team was still at the hotel playing cards in the lobby. The earlies things could get going is 2 p.m., but that even seems optimistic. I'll try to keep you posted. Go Bucks!

The scheduled 1:05 p.m. start time for a doubleheader between Ohio State and Michigan State Saturday has been delayed due to inclement weather. As of 1:30 p.m., the team had not left the hotel for Oldsmobile Park. No start time has been established. The weather outside is cold and gray, but consistent rains have not hit the area. The concern is a weather system that seems to be stationary over the region that has the potential for heavy rain and possibly snow on Sunday. So we wait.
If they can throw just one pitch today, they can finish the game Sunday and then play the remaining two games of the series. If the teams don't throw a pitch today, that would mean they would try to play two Sunday with the final game of the series getting wiped out because of the weather.

It appears the earliest the teams will play to day is 5 p.m. A determination will be made at 3 p.m. and I will let you know as soon as I know something.

Nothing. Have been in rainy, ugly, cold, now snowy Lansing since 6:30 pm today. Left Columbus a little after 2:00, hoping I could catch game 2 of the DH, and yeah that didn't work.
Ever since my grandmother and family moved from Lansing out west, I'm struggling to find good things to say about my birthplace and this didn't help the cause.
We'll see about tomorrow, supposedly it will be clear and in the mid-40s.
VanBuskirk is Derek's last name for UM. Real good guy, hard to root against him, even if he is a Wolverine. Goodnight.
