Not Mathematically eliminated, BUT

they might as well be. At this point, I think it is a given the Buckeyes will not win the Big Ten regular season championship. Ohio State has not claimed a conference regular season championship since 2001. Thankfully, Bob Todd's recent teams have been able to find success during a four-game stretch in mid-May to punch a ticket to the NCAA tournament. I'm not sure this young team is capable of that, but stranger things have happened. There is still a lot of baseball to be played.

Big Ten Standings (through Sunday)
1. Michigan 15-1
2. Purdue 12-4
3. Illinois 9-7
4. Ohio State 8-7
T5. Penn State 8-8
T5. Northwestern 8-8
T7. Minnesota 6-10
T7. Iowa 6-10
9. Michigan State 4-11
10. Indiana 4-12

Yeah Michigan has the Big Ten wrapped up right now on April 20.That is crazy.

They play IU next weekend, that could get ugly. They play us,then go to Minnesota and finish with NW at home. It looks like the Big Ten tournament will be in Ann Arbor for the 3nd year in a row. Too bad they don't play the Boilermakers. That would be a good series.

They can score runs with any one in the country.I thought their pitching would struggle but when you can hit HR like they can, they can come back to win so easy.

I think I'm going to take a week breka from OSU baseball. With 2 against the Zips and 4 against Northwestern there isn't too much cause for concern right?? I need to focus and spend all my efforts on being creative for the Michigan series. They might hit HR after HR, which outside of JB our pitchers have been suspect to giving up, but I'll make sure Putnam, Fetters, Wilson on the mound, and Recknagle, VanBuskirk, Mahler, and so on know I'm there. I'm talking a 1 man student section version of Texas A&M. Cowbells, whistles, flags, drums, chants for each player.... if we're going down I'm going down swinging, or escorted.
